Thanks God I found Stereo Siberia! I still remeber it was Shauna from Ummagma who posted about this Russian psychrock band. This debut album constains of four songs, mixed of heavy-rock and psychedelic riff. The opening, 'Open Your Mouth Babe' is nothing but intense desert rock song with a crunchy riff and impulsive drumbeat.
'What Will Come' is a bluesy number, absorbs your soul into the flow of bloody heavy Sabbath-alike guitar riff. A heavy ancient music from 40 years ago, that we agree, will never die. 'Taste My Blues', a Zeppelin-esque track, sounds stoned and full of dark psych staccato melodies. A typical of song that will always responded by headbang when played live. The last song 'Summer' is a noise chaotic party of sounds. Full of distortion until reach a pit stop in the middle, to be silent, and continued with smooth guitar layer and strong drumbeat and bassline. As if creeping in the wasted, desolated, land full of nothing but a black sunlight and trapped.
Though it seems influenced by godfather of heavy riff like Sabbath and Zeppelin, their music shaped simpler. No complicated guitar melodies, no skill-show-off parade riff, no minutes-to-minutes-boring-solo-part-until-you-go-to-hell. This is so simple but heavy. I really like this one. You can download this album on their bandcamp and like their Facebook page if you are ready to simply stoned.
