Artist: Lights that Change
Label: Ear to Ear Records, 2014
Lights That Change is a dream-pop project, playing a different shoegaze. It has clarity and structure which made it different with shoegazing style. Five songs in the EP are pieces of dreamy, three songs stand alone, and the fourth one 'Cherokee Blessing. Moccasins, Snow and Rainbows' are actually two tracks.
Cheerful pop and dancy song with a catchy chorus, 'Toxic', opened the album. 'Happy Space', is like the title, a number with floating ambient and sonic craft. 'Flying' is darker than others, repetitive drum pattern and gloomy atmospheres guided by dreamscape guitar sound. The last one is the longest composition, started with harmonic vocals and turned into a sonic experimental music. It drops a noise and continue to second track (in one song) where female vocal covered up with the same taste of ambient. 'Cherokee Blessing. Moccasins, Snow and Rainbows' is absolutely a long spcae journey with dreamy pop explored very well. Wonderful, beautiful, and well-structured of shoegaze. Go to their bandcamp and like their Facebook page if you are into MBV or David Bowie.
