Label: Twelve Records, 2013
Coldair is a name of a independent artist from Poland, Tobiasz Biliński. I know him from the compilation of Seashell Records. Claudio Cataldi suggested me to listen to his bandcamp. Then I know that he released his latest work in September 2013. An album titled ‘Whose Blood’, which has various exploration of folk within. Whatever you call it, up to you.
Eleven songs in this album are interesting and surprising. In a song called ‘Holiness’ and ‘Wraith’, I was amazed when his guitar playing slowly guides into an explosive part – with the sound of horn appears to make it gloomy. ‘In The Nether’ surprised me in different way. This song swinging comfortably in the beginning and suddenly get into a chaotic part with the drum beat raised the song tension before finished. An ambient composition, ‘I Fear Death’, will be good to be a suspense movie soundtrack. If you love a classic folk approach, ‘Hometown’ should suit you best to bring up the 60s taste, before you close this album with that same taste in ‘Your Blood’.
I recommend you to give a listen to his bandcamp
