Label: Som Non-label, 2014
This Palermo-based band had been in my waiting list when I first listened to their single 'Mojo Rising'. And when Mario from Som Non-label told me that the album is finally out, my waiting is done in such a satisfying way.
This EP, 'Mojo Rising', has six songs in it. They stand on the rock line with dirty sound as a primary foot-print. If you ever listened to their single 'Mojo Rising', you would easily imagine what the sound in this album be alike. The first track, 'Time', attracted me just in few seconds beginning. 'Tea In The Desert' is rich of psychedelic melodies with drum beat and raw sound as if you are getting lost in a desert. 'Concrete' is a charming stoner rock song with keyboard based ambient goes in hand with very attractive slide guitar and solo part in the middle. This song sounds easy to play, but if you really pay attention, you'll know how complex actually it is. 'Middle of The Town part 1' opened with a very catchy 60s tone. Clearly claimed their Beatles-esque influence. When it continues to 'part 2', the keyboard plays the role very well and wonderful. These last two songs might be the "cleanest" songs in this album.
I am personally into this album so much. Dirty desert stoner rock with psychedelic touch, in other hand can cover the sweet melodies of Beatlesian music as well. Oh, I really love this band. One of promising rock band today. And with this such of release, I honestly really want to see them playing live. However for now, stream or buy the album here first.
