"There are really only two genres of music, what you like and what you don't. In many ways, music is a bit like poetry, it either conveys or works for you, or it doesn't" - Cousin Silas

Cousin Silas is Dave W. Hughes, an ambient musician whom I just knew from his album 'The Place It Used To Be'. This album is amazing for me. The concept is brilliant and the music speaks a lot. I was so glad knowing him opened for an interview, and moreover, share his knowledge and experiences in ambient music.

"I believe in a law of mirroring your ideas to this consciousness to achieve your goals, so to avoid manipulation, there is nothing better than self belief, and self managing their project" - Pete Milo

Pete Milo is a singer-songwriter from Akron who released an album called 'Activation' under Cabinessence Records. I have reviewed this album as a good mix of raw 60s rock and roll riff and modern power-pop. And here I finally am, talking with Pete about his music, DIY movement, and the story behind my favorite song from his album.

"I don’t think there should be any exclusivity per say and talking about principle is a non-ending dialog" - Faisal, Akaliko Records

I know this label after reviewing Solarein's single. Fortunately, Vru Patel is one of the label. It's good for me because I really want to explore more about this Bangladeshi label. So here is Faisal, answering my interview questions about this label, local scene, and the hype of electronic music lately.

"We just want to write the most honest songs that we can, and not be constrained to any “standards” that are held to religious thought" - Nathan Dickerson, Motherfolk

They just released their debut album, their music is so enjoyable - folk/indie-rock with both traditional and modern touch, their lyrics are amazingly written. I bet they are going to be a big name in scene. However, before it, you'd better read my interview with Nathan Dickerson about their music, the ideas of lyric writing, and others.

"I may not do the whole label thing "right", but I sure am having fun with it!" - Chris, Jigsaw Records

I know Jigsaw Records since I interviewed Shiny Happy Records. It was about in the beginning of this year. However, I browsed them a lot since I only knew a bit of this label at first. And Chris - the owner - said yes when I asked him to have an interview. That is great. I can explore more about this label, also about how he keep this label on since 2010, and the most important - how to get the fund to run a having-fun oriented physical release label today.

"Present cultures are based on stupefying their people. What you eat, what you see and read, what you can and can’t do…everything is contaminated" - The Cow Goes Moo

One of my interesting new finding is someone who creates music under moniker, The Cow Goes Moo, from Cavan, Ireland. Combining electronic music with samba, funk, 8-bit, to be something undefineable. However, what I give attention most is the title of the songs in the album, 'Super Spongiform People' - oh yes, and the album title too. I can't resist to ask about what inside his head when writing the album title or naming the songs such as 'Go Cannibalism' or 'Cosmic Rescue Plan for Animal of Earth'. Until I was told everything that's so mind-fucking. The contaminated life, destroying power, and the dream of the end of humanity you can enjoy while laying on the sofa, pirating series online, and waiting for a wonderful day when something definitive flattens everything.

"It’s a lot easier to sell somebody a CD after a show than telling them “Don’t forget to look us up on Bandcamp tomorrow and pay for the digital download!” - Harley Rex, Fallen Love Records

Fallen Love Records, from Canada, stands on two spirits: pop songs and friendship. They do support their roosters, which mostly are their friends who play in indiepop band. Here, Harley Rex told me how his passion in music made him dreaming about having concert venue or record label - which is finally turned into reality in the existence of Fallen Love Records.

"I prefer my music to come in something beautiful that both relates to the music, and perhaps even enhances the overall listening experience!" - Colin, Time Released Sound Label

I am the one who thinks that physical release never lost their charm, even in this digital era where
digital releases have their strength on another side. One of the excitement from having a physical release is enjoying the artwork. You can hold, take a look closer, moreover collect it on the table or anywhere else. One of the label who concerns to make great artistic artwork is Time Released Sound. They work on handmade album for the artists who want to make special packaging for their album. So, here gladly I am talking with Colin Herrick, from Time Released Sound, about their works, and the part maybe you want to know the most: the sales!

"I'd rather be underrated with a cult following than famous. If you're famous you're probably doing something very wrong" - James Cassidy, The Autumn Stone

Running this blog gives me a lot of great findings for me: new bands, musicians, labels, and others. One of them, which is I currently like very much, is The Autumn Stone. I found this band from the Cabinessence Records link. They are James Cassidy and Syd Lane in this band (and I just know that they are couple and will get married soon) working on their debut album soon to be released.
Here James telling me about this band forthcoming album, and the most interesting, how it feels to be an underrated cult band in America.
